It all started -like so many other great ideas -at a restaurant table.
Like many great ideas, ours was born around a restaurant table while enjoying good food and discussing the growing restaurant and bar scene. That's when we realized the challenge of finding them online, even with websites in place.
After creating a bar and restaurant guide in Mexico City, we realized that confusing domain names made it hard to identify our favorite spots.
That's when our mission started: to revolutionize the online presence of restaurants and bars.
In 2011, we saw an opportunity when ICANN released a project for managing new domain names. Fueled by our passion, we embarked on a jo9urney to create unnique domain names for the food and beverage industry as well as other related businesses.
To fund our ambitious plan, we rallied close friends and family, raising enough capital to apply for the domain name extensions .REST and .BAR and obtaining them was a breakthrough moment. Through partnerships with reputable registrars like GoDaddy and Name.com, we made our domain names accessible to the public in 2014.
Since then, our domain names have become the gold standard for naming restaurants, bars, startups, and beyond online. Today, any business can choose a .rest or .bar domain name to shine brightly in the digital world and enhance their online presence globally.

Our culture
At Punto 2012, we believe in the power of giving back and growing together. As active social entrepreneurs, we started small just like many successful ventures, and we understand the potential for growth that lies within every project.
One of our core values is social responsibility. We actively engage with the Bar Munincipality in Montenegro and have fostered strong relationships with the local community for over 10 years. To support education in the region, we provide a yearly donation to the Mexico School in Bar, Montenegro.
